For the last 7 years, every Christmas I have been donating to the local community here in Nicaragua. We all get dressed up as elves and hand out toys to the Nicaraguan boys and girls around our neighborhood. Many who don't get any presents are able to receive gifts through our Nica Heartbeat Toy Drive. Santa Claus gets ready in 90* weather and heads out into the jungle to bring joy to children. In the past I have been able to bring down new and used items on my trips. Recently, I have been living here so this year so I REALLY need your HELP!!! I will not be able to bring down many donations. PLEASE help me continue this tradition I started 7 years ago!
HOW? If you are coming down to visit, please add some new or used toys/clothes to your luggage. Ask friends and neighbors to pitch in! This can be a great lesson to teach the kids: Giving to those less fortunate. Isn't that what the season is all about? If you are unable to come down I will have my elves do some shopping down here. We will have donation boxes through out the community and at our Nica Heartbeat First Aid Center.
